While you post photos and videos everyday or once or twice a week on your Instagram, Facebook or any other social media platform, has it ever come to your mind that probably you are trying to project yourself leading a certain lifestyle in them, which maybe you are not? 

Every day while posing for the photos, hundreds of youth, try to present themselves as a person whom they are not. In social media people mostly try to present themselves as perfect in terms of looks, leading a posh lifestyle and leading a life where they are always happy. 

Ever wondered why this might be the case and people are not posting photos or videos of  the way they really are?

There can be a number of reasons, from which a few maybe, desire for fame and more followers, insecurities regarding their looks, unrealistic beauty standards popularized through media, fear of not fitting in and many more. 

This widely popularized sense of beauty and aesthetics in media is leading to kids and young adults being insecure of their natural beauty, they start feeling that they are not as perfect as others, however those photos that they are taking for reference maybe edited / photoshopped by professionals or the flaws may have been hidden by heavy makeup.

We need to popularize originality in social media, so that kids and young adults using social media can feel comfortable in their own skin and appreciate their originality. Because the real you is the most beautiful version of you! People must never lose themselves while posing and portraying to be someone they are not on a daily basis.
