The seemingly lonely one near the bookshelf!
I am sure once in everyone's life ,they have encountered a solitary reader standing near the bookshelf or sitting on one of the chairs 🪑 in the bookstore or cafe silently reading to themselves. Now many would think , "what a sad and lonely life they have! Must be reading and spending time alone here rather than with their friends in youth because they are an outcast or too boring so they don't have friends to talk to or spend time with...", and the list continues.
But let me tell you the story on the flip side. Yes! They might be lonely but more often than not they don't want anyone near themselves during that time and that solitary time is blissful to them. They enjoy reading and spend time alone deliberately to avoid distractions. To a reader their reading time is sacred and they are never lonely with a book 📚 . It is rather their best companion , that doesn't judge, doesn't leave and gives them something to fall back to, when they want to escape from their daily , monotonous or hectic lives.
Books for most people let's them live in various different worlds at once, without having to travel anywhere. Readers experience a world and lives of various characters through each book they read and relate to .
So, next time you see a reader , don't think they are sad and lonely, they have more interesting things going on in their lives and minds, than you will ever have in your daily mundane life! Each solitary reader is more likely to become a creator in the coming days than a normal person enjoying their youth with friends! ❤️
