Cozy Movie Nights: Must-Watch Films for Snuggling Up and Relaxing
Greetings to everyone reading this blog. It has been a long time since I have wrote a blog and that is primarily because I wanted to bring something cozy on your table in this disturbed world. I thought long and hard, and now I have finally thought of a series of cozy topics to cover in today's and the next few blogs.








This is one of the most common ways in which one finds comfort from their boring, disturbed or hectic lives. Through these movies that I have personally watched over the last few months I hope each of you can find comfort, satisfaction and enjoyment. Obviously most of them will not be serious or something on extremely profound topics, because in this blog I aim to relax your mind and give it some light material to digest and release serotonin, not to make you cry or give severe reality checks.
Now without further ado let's delve into the list :
1. The Sherlock Holmes movie series
- Sherlock Holmes
2009 ‧ Mystery/Action ‧ 2h 8m : The film revolves around the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes, played by Robert Downey Jr., and his loyal companion Dr. John Watson, played by Jude Law. Together, they solve a series of mysterious crimes in Victorian-era London.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, 2016 ‧ Fantasy/Adventure ‧ 2h 7m : Based on the novel by Ransom Riggs, it tells the story of a young boy named Jake who discovers a mysterious orphanage on a remote island. This orphanage is home to childrenwith extraordinary abilities or "peculiarities." As Jake unravels the secrets of the peculiar children and their headmistress, Miss Peregrine, he becomes entangled in a dangerous adventure filled with magic and danger.
3. The Half of It, 2020 ‧ Romance/Comedy ‧ 1h 44m : It tells the story of a shy, introverted high school student named Ellie Chu, who gets paid to write love letters for a jock named Paul. As Ellie helps Paul win the heart of the girl they both have feelings for, she discovers her own hidden desires and forms an unexpected bond with both of them. It's a heartwarming and funny movie that explores themes of friendship, self-discovery, and the complexities of young love.
4. Moxie, 2021 ‧ Comedy/Drama ‧ 1h 51m :
"Moxie" revolves around a shy 16-year-old girl named Vivian who becomes inspired by her mother's rebellious past and starts a feminist revolution at her high school. With the help of a magazine called Moxie, she encourages her fellow students to stand up against sexism and injustice. It's a powerful and empowering film that addresses important social issues while also delivering plenty of laughs.
5. The Bounty Hunter, 2010 ‧ Comedy/Action ‧ 1h 50m: Starring Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston, "The Bounty Hunter" follows the story of a bounty hunter named Milo who is assigned to track down his ex-wife, Nicole, who has skipped bail. As they find themselves caught up in a dangerous adventure, old sparks and hilarious antics ensue. It's an entertaining movie that combines action, comedy, and a touch of romance.
6. Uncharted, 2022 ‧ Action/Adventure ‧ 1h 56m : The film follows the adventurous journey of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who seeks out legendary artifacts. Alongside his mentor Victor Sullivan, Nate embarks on a quest to find the lost treasure of the pirate Henry Avery. Their journey takes them across different exotic locations, where they encounter dangerous enemies and face thrilling challenges. "Uncharted" is filled with action, adventure, and a touch of humor, making it an exciting watch for fans of the video game series and adventure films in general.
7. Kill Boksoon, 2023 ‧ Action/Thriller ‧ 2h 17m : In "Kill Boksoon," we meet Gil Bok-Soon, a single mom who's got a dark side as a merciless killer. She's working for Cha Min-Kyu's M.K. Ent, but things take a turn when she finds herself in a life-or-death situation. It's a kill-or-be-killed showdown that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
8. Jhonny English Trilogy: "Johnny English Trilogy" is a series of comedy spy films starring Rowan Atkinson as the bumbling yet lovable secret agent, Johnny English. The trilogy consists of three movies: "Johnny English" (2003), "Johnny English Reborn" (2011), and "Johnny English Strikes Again" (2018). In these films, Johnny English finds himself in hilarious and often absurd situations as he tries to save the world from various threats. If you enjoy lighthearted spy comedies with lots of slapstick humor, you'll definitely have a good time watching the "Johnny English Trilogy"! 😄🕵️♂️🎬
9. Flavors of Youth, 2018 ‧ Romance/Drama ‧ 1h 15m : "Flavors of Youth" is a beautiful animated anthology film that explores themes of romance and drama. The film takes viewers on a nostalgic journey through different stories set in China. Each story focuses on a different character and their personal experiences, capturing moments of love, growth, and reflection. With stunning animation and heartfelt storytelling, "Flavors of Youth" offers a captivating and emotional viewing experience. If you enjoy romance and drama in animated films, this one is definitely worth checking out! 🎥😊
10. My Neighbor Totoro,
1988 Fantasy/Adventure ‧ 1h 26m : "My Neighbor Totoro" is such a delightful film! It's a 1988 fantasy adventure that's perfect for all ages. Directed by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki, the movie takes you on a magical journey with two young sisters who encounter friendly forest spirits, including the lovable Totoro. With its enchanting animation and heartwarming story, "My Neighbor Totoro" has become a beloved classic in the world of animation. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a watch! 🌳🐱🌟
